Stuart Lancaster’s keenness to connect with the nation continued this week when five Unsung Heroes from some of the England players’ first clubs were invited to the team’s Pennyhill training base.
There they watched the England squad train, had photographs and met Stuart Lancaster for tea as well as being presented with a plaque to take back to their clubs.
The Unsung Heroes and guests were:
- Kieran Brookes & Richard Wigglesworth met Warren Atkinson (second team manager from Fylde)
- Mike Brown met Salisbury club photographer John Palmer
- Ben Morgan met Laura Price (U6s coach at Dursley) and 11-year-old son Ben
- Chris Robshaw met Warlingham RFC team manager John Doe
- David Wilson met Westoe Under-8s coach for last 10 years John Pickering
England are priming themselves for testing Autumn Internationals against New Zealand, South Africa, Samoa and Australia, with their schedule kicking-off against the All Blacks on November 8.
