Gatland has concerns over Roberts
Head coach Warren Gatland claimed the with the British and Irish Lions' performance against the Waratahs was "out of the top drawer" but he was left
concerned over the fitness of centre Jamie Roberts. Gatland told Sky Sports: "It looks like he has torn a bit of a hamstring but I am not 100% sure. I'll check with the medics about that. Hopefully it is not that bad. We have had a couple already so we will have to wait and see when I get in the changing rooms and talk to the medics."
Warburton satisfied with win
Skipper Sam Warburton paid tribute to his British and Irish Lions side as they
held off the battling Waratahs to win in Sydney. "The Waratahs were really tough and I don't think the score reflected the way they played, but we definitely stepped up and I knew we had to," Warburton told Sky Sports. "I thought the forwards did a great job and the backs were very clinical so I'm very pleased with the performance. From watching the Waratahs we knew they were very similar to us and very direct."
Ruthless Lions delight lock
British and Irish Lions lock Alun-Wyn Jones was pleased with the way the
tourists maximised their chances in their 47-17 victory over the New South Wales Waratahs in Sydney. The Lions scored five tries as they put in their best performance on tour. "It was a case of go out and use the ball wisely," Jones told
Sky Sports News.. "We knew chances would be few and far between tonight. When we got chances we tried to make the most of them, especially after the first 20 or 30 minutes."
Lineout work pleases Croft
Lions flanker Tom Croft was
pleased with the way the lineout worked and admitted the forwards have been given some freedom to express themselves. "We have new guys together with different systems and it takes a few weeks to settle down," said Croft. "We've worked hard in raining and worked hard tonight. We've got some great guys in charge of the lineout, Paul O'Connell and Geoff Parling, and it functioned well tonight. We got some good go forward ball for the backs to go off."

The Sky Sports panel give their
verdict on the 47-17 victory over the Waratahs in Sydney. Sky Sports expert Paul Wallace said: "One area I was really impressed with was the tight play, the maul in particular; I thought they moulded very tightly, very cohesively. They'll need that in the Test matches. The lineout was very good as well. They lost one that went to the back but most of the ball went to the front - so it was quite hard to judge on that - but the game-plan will need ball off the tail."
