Rising Wasps star Billy Vunipola has capped a memorable week by collecting the Gatorade Game Changer Award for December.

Vunipola, who has been added to England's elite playing squad as injury cover, wins the monthly accolade for his stunning performance against Sale at Adams Park.

The Gatorade Game Changer award rewards players responsible for sometimes unseen contributions to their team, be it the hard yard carries, work on the floor or tackles made - with the winner determined by official Premiership Rugby data provided by Opta.

And Vunipola became the fourth player to receive the award this season - following Bath's Dave Attwood and Harlequins duo Mike Brown and Chris Robshaw.

Vunipola registered 11 carries, 11 tackles and beat five defenders in open play whilst covering 111 metres in the 25-18 victory on December 23. His storming run from the base of a scrum on halfway helped Wasps score their first try of the match.

At the end of the season, the monthly winner with the greatest accumulative score is awarded the Gatorade Game Changer of the Season title - with Gonzalo Camacho claiming the crown last year.
