South Africa inside-centre Jean de Villiers speaks to the Extra Time team to reassure fans that he is in 'rehabilitation'

Jean de Villiers joined the Extra Time team to chat about his injury, his Super Rugby team and his World Cup ambitions.

The injured Springbok joined James Gemmell in studio via Skype to give an update on the knee operation he underwent after injuring himself against Wales at the end of last year.

When asked if he felt he would recover in time for the World Cup, De Villiers was unsure but said he is optimistic.

"I don't see it as an injury anymore, I'm in rehab now," said de Villiers. "Everything is going according to plan, but to give a guarantee at this stage if I will make it, unfortunately I can't do that.

"Only time will tell but I'm positive and I'm still hoping to be there."

De Villiers also spoke about Schalk Burger, who won his 100th Super Rugby cap on Saturday morning against the Highlanders, and about the Six Nations sides he expects to be competitive in the World Cup later in the year.
