Sale have made eight changes to their starting line-up for their Premiership clash with Exeter on Friday night.

Sale retain only six of the side which lost in the European Champions Cup at Saracens last weekend, with Danny Cipriani, Chris Cusiter and Magnus Lund among those returning.

Sam Tuitupou and Jonny Leota also return as the centre pairing while flanker David Seymour will start on the bench after his recent shoulder injury.

Exeter Chiefs coach Rob Baxter is looking for revenge for the club's record Aviva Premiership defeat to the Sharks. The Chiefs were thrashed 55-12 by Sale at their Sandy Park home last April and Baxter admitted that the loss remained fresh in Exeter minds as they head north with the incentive of climbing above Northampton and Bath into top spot.

"Obviously the last time we played them is still quite fresh in our minds – it was a stuffing to be honest," Baxter told the official club website. "We were well beaten here at Sandy Park and I think that is going to stick in our minds.

"We have talked about it since and it is not something that we should be prepared to accept or that happens often given our qualities. I am hoping that will give us extra motivation, but the fact is that both ourselves and Sale are going pretty well at the moment."

Exeter have won their last eight games in domestic and European competition and are unbeaten in the Premiership since the start of October.

Baxter welcomes back all his frontline players following the European Challenge Cup double-header against La Rochelle, with skipper Dean Mumm, No 8 Thomas Waldrom and fly-half Gareth Steenson all in the starting XV.
