Wasps back Elliot Daly has been cited for alleged verbal abuse of a referee.

Daly, 22, has been charged with acts contrary to good sportsmanship, the Rugby Football Union said.

"In the Aviva Premiership match between Exeter Chiefs and Wasps on Saturday 22 November 2014, Elliot Daly of Wasps verbally abused the match referee Ian Tempest," the RFU said in a statement.

"The player was subsequently cited for the incident."

Daly, who played at outside centre in a game that Wasps lost 31-15 at Sandy Park, will appear before an RFU disciplinary panel in London on Wednesday.
