England have announced that centre Luther Burrell will miss Saturday's QBE International against South Africa at Twickenham as he continues rehabilitation on his hand injury.

Burrell was sidelined for the 24-21 defeat by New Zealand and is to continue receiving treatment at his club Northampton, alongside fly-half Stephen Myler, who is still troubled by a hamstring problem.

Second row Courtney Lawes was concussed in the first half against the All Blacks and will follow return to play protocols this week, placing his availability for next weekend in doubt.

Lawes is among 34 players who have returned to the squad's training base at Pennyhill Park.

Head coach Stuart Lancaster will name his matchday 23 for the clash with the Springboks on Tuesday evening and starting XV two days later.

"The players will review the All Blacks game on Monday before moving on to prepare for South Africa," said Lancaster.
