Wales have released flanker Aaron Shingler from their Six Nations squad to undergo further treatment on an ankle injury.

The 26-year-old suffered the injury in training last week and will return to the Scarlets while the rest of the Wales squad prepare to face Ireland this weekend.

Shingler was not part of the match-day 23 when Wales opened their Six Nations campaign with victory over Italy.

The flanker has won caps for Wales will not be involved in Wales' clash Ireland at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday.
