Cardiff Blues have denied reports that Leigh Halfpenny has already signed for Toulon.

Halfpenny is one of the hottest properties in world rugby and he is expected to join the exodus of top talent from Wales at the end of the season.

The likes of Jamie Roberts, Dan Lydiate and George North have already left Wales, and Jonathan Davies has tied up a deal with Clermont Auvergne for next season.

Halfpenny, the player of the series on the summer's British & Irish Lions tour in Australia, has been tipped to join the European champions Toulon, one of the world's richest clubs.

But Blues coach Phil Davies insists that as far as he is aware, no deal has been agreed and he is still hoping to keep the full-back.

"He has not told us that (and) I think he would have done," he said. "There is a lot of work going on behind the scenes to try to keep our best players."
