Glasgow Warriors' RaboDirect PRO12 clash against Benetton Treviso on Friday night at Scotstoun had to be called off because of a waterlogged pitch.
Heavy rain throughout the day left the pitch in no fit state to play, with the decision taken to postpone the fixture following an inspection at 6.05pm.
"Match officials ruled it would be impossible to play," Glasgow said in a statement on their website.
Having lost four of their last five outings, including twice to Cardiff Blues in the Heineken Cup, the Warriors would have been keen to face opponents who have won just twice in nine league outings so far this season.
Instead they will next be in action against Edinburgh on Boxing Day; they then host their Scottish rivals in the return fixture on January 1.
Treviso, meanwhile, will have to wait for their first game under the stewardship of Marius Goosen, who was handed the reins after Franco Smith stepped down from his role as head coach following back-to-back Heineken Cup defeats to Ulster.
