Edinburgh centre Matt Scott has been ruled out of Scotland's remaining Autumn Tests after suffering a fractured hand.

Scott was struck on the hand during the closing stages of Saturday's 42-17 win over Japan and scans revealed the full extent of the injury.

The 23-year-old faces six weeks on the sidelines and head coach Scott Johnson has swiftly patched up his squad ahead of Sunday's clash against South Africa.

Johnson has other injury concerns and has called up Edinburgh quartet Jack Cuthbert, Tom Brown, Lee Jones and Ross Rennie.

Glasgow pair Jon Welsh and Byron McGuigan and uncapped Leeds back Stevie McColl have also been added to the squad as they prepare for the match at Murrayfield.
