Toulon scrum-half Michael Claassens has been ruled out for six weeks because of injury.

Claassens, who joined Toulon from Bath in the summer, was forced off in Toulon's 51-28 win over Glasgow in the Heineken Cup on Sunday with a broken bone in his left hand.

Fly-half Jonny Wilkinson also suffered a hand injury but his cut - which needed stitches - will have recovered sufficiently for him to play Cardiff Blues next weekend.

With Claassens out Frederic Michalak is favourite to play at No 9 for Toulouse in the next few weeks, though they also have Sebastian Tillous-Borde and Matt Giteau as further options.
