Gloucester's Koree Britton has been handed a four-week ban after being sent-off for his part in a brawl during Monday's Aviva A League match against Leicester.
Leicester's Ryan Lamb was also dismissed following the incident but, after pleading guilty to the charge, was handed a lesser sentence of one week.
Both men were charged with striking an opponent contrary to law 10.4(a) but while Lamb accepted his guilt Britton decided to contest the charge.
The pair faced an RFU disciplinary hearing and a statement by England's ruling body read: "Lamb pleaded guilty to the charge and the panel judged that the entry point for sanction was a low-end one (two weeks) before mitigation.
"Britton contested the charge but was found guilty and the panel judged that the entry point for sanction was a mid-range one (five weeks) before mitigation."
