Wasps have signed USA international centre Andrew Suniula.

Suniula is a powerful centre, who can also cover wing and he has previously played for Cornish Pirates and Taranaki in New Zealand.

He has also spent time in rugby league with the Auckland Lions and Manly Sea Eagles and played for the USA in the 2011 Rugby Union World Cup.

Another new arrival to the backline is summer signing, Willie Helu. His arrival was delayed by an injury suffered on Tonga international duty over the summer.

The arrival of Suniula and Helu is timely with Andrea Masi, Tom Varndell and Hugo Southwell all currently out of action with injuries.

Director of Rugby Dai Young said: "We've unfortunately been hit by a few early season injuries to our back line so having Andrew and William come in this week has been good timing.

"They are both experienced international players and provide us with vital depth in the midfield and wider."
