Scarlets winger Kristian Phillips has been ruled out for up to six weeks after breaking his hand.

The 23-year-old suffered the injury in last weekend's 42-19 loss to RaboDirect Pro12 champions Leinster.

With George North and Andy Feny both leaving in the summer, Phillips' injury leaves Scarlets desperately short of wings.

"It is a disappointment for Kristian and for us," forwards coach Danny Wilson told the South Wales Evening Post.

"Kristian has had a good pre-season and has raised his game. But it is what it is and we are going to have to make a few adjustments.

"There is nobody walking through the door immediately so we have got to get on with it.

"We are slightly short there with that injury, I am not going to hide away from it, but we have definitely got players who can be versatile, we have proved that in the past."
