The Waratahs have handed national academy lock Will Skelton an extended playing squad contract.
The 20-year-old, the cousin of former All Blacks lock Brad Mika, has only recently returned to rugby after spending a year out with a foot injury.
However Skelton, who was born in New Zealand, impressed Waratahs head coach Michael Cheika during pre-season
"I was pretty nervous but when I spoke to Michael," Skelton told the club's official site.
"But when he told me they were going to offer me the contract I was stoked. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. Having done pre-season with the boys, it feels great to be a part of the team."
