Scotland coach Scott Johnson has called up 13 additional players to his training squad ahead of this weekend's Six Nations clash with Ireland at Murrayfield.

The only absentee from the 23 on duty in the victory against Italy is prop Euan Murray who does not play on Sunday because of his religious beliefs.

Glasgow supply eight of the additions in Jon Welsh, Dougie Hall, Tom Ryder, John Barclay, Sean Kennedy, Alex Dunbar, Peter Horne and Peter Murchie.

Joining them are Sale duo Alasdair Dickinson and Richie Vernon, Grant Gilchrist of Edinburgh, Bath's Tom Heathcote and Worcester back Nikki Walker.

The Scotland team to play Ireland is due to be announced on Wednesday.
