The Hurricanes have agreed two-year contract extensions with Brad Shields and Reggie Goodes.

Back-rower Shields and South African-born prop Goodes have both now committed to the franchise until the end of the 2014 season.

Shields, 21, has made 13 appearances for the Hurricanes and said: "I'm stoked that I can play where I love and I can't see myself playing anywhere else.

Awesome

"There is such an awesome team culture here and it is pretty special to be a part of it."

Loosehead Goodes made eight appearances in his debut season last year, having previously impressed with Wellington in the ITM Cup.

And the 20-year-old said: "I'm very happy to have re-signed with the Lions and extend my Hurricanes contract to the end of 2014.

"It's an exciting two years ahead."
