Biarritz have sacked coaches Jack Isaac and Serge Mihas, three days after their Heineken Cup defeat to Connacht.

Club president Serge Blanco had been critical of the team's recent performances.

After a dreadful 2011-12 season, they have not been much better in this campaign and are currently mid-table in the Top 14.

The 22-14 defeat to Connacht at the Sportsground was the last straw for Blanco, whose team are now nine points behind pool leaders Harlequins.

They will host Connacht in their return match on Friday at the Parc des Sports Aguilera.

Laurent Rodriguez takes temporary charge of Biarritz for the Connacht match.

Blanco said: "It became apparent that something had to be done.

"Our season is not over, but we need to regenerate, we need to qualify (for the Heineken Cup quarter-finals), we are competitors, it is imperative we begin to move in the right direction."
