Wales coach Warren Gatland is sweating on the fitness of fly-half Rhys Priestland after he suffered what appears to be a serious Achilles injury.

Priestland was stretchered off during the Scarlets' Heineken Cup defeat at home to Exeter on Saturday after he slipped taking the ball into contact.

"Rhys has got an Achilles injury," said Scarlets head coach Simon Easterby.

"We won't know the extent of that until he has a scan. But it didn't look good."

Another Scarlets and Wales star, Aaron Singler, suffered a groin problem in the same match and Easterby added: "Hopefully he will come through but that didn't look great either."
