Sitaleki Timani has been cited for allegedly striking an opponent during Australia's match against Italy in Florence on Saturday.

The forward was reported by match commissioner Freek Burger following the incident that occurred after just 13 minutes.

The time and date of Timani's disciplinary hearing has yet to be confirmed.

The 26-year-old Waratahs' lock will hope he does not face an identical suspension handed to team-mate Rob Simmons who was recently banned for eight weeks after he was cited following a dangerous tackle against France.

Simmons is to appeal the ban, while Australia conclude their European tour against Wales in Cardiff this weekend.
