Duncan Weir: Out for six weeks

Glasgow have suffered a major injury blow with the news that fly-half Duncan Weir will be out for six weeks.

Weir, 21, hurt his knee during training ahead of the Warriors' recent RaboDirect PRO12 win over Connacht at Scotstoun Stadium.

"It's clearly frustrating for both Duncan and ourselves that he's missing out on some big games," said Warriors coach Gregor Townsend.

"However, with many more important fixtures coming up over the course of the season, it's very important that he gets himself right, and I know he'll be working hard with our medical team to return to the fray in due course."

Glasgow launch their Heineken Cup campaign against Northampton this weekend and with the season just a couple of months old they have something of an injury crisis.

Scotland internationals Moray Low and Chris Cusiter, Rob Harley, Ed Kalman and Pat McArthur are currently all out injured.
