Uncapped Ospreys scrum-half Rhys Webb has replaced the injured Lloyd Williams on the Wales bench for the RBS Six Nations clash against Italy.

The Welsh Rugby Union has announced that the team has been forced into a change among their replacements for the contest in Cardiff on Saturday.

Williams, who was scrum-half understudy to Mike Phillips at last autumn's World Cup and throughout the current Six Nations campaign so far, has pulled out after suffering a thigh strain in training.

The 23-year-old Webb is in his third season at the Ospreys and has played for Wales at under-18 and under-19 levels.
