Jones: Precautionary measure

Stephen Jones has been pulled out of Wales' final World Cup warm-up game against Argentina with a calf muscle problem.

Jones, who suffered the injury during the warm-up before Wales' Twickenham clash against England two weeks ago, had been due to start Saturday's match on the bench.

He had been named as a replacement at the Millennium Stadium for this weekend's match after missing last Saturday's return England fixture.

The Welsh Rugby Union said on Saturday that the decision to withdraw Jones had been taken as a precautionary measure

"He was considered ready to make a return to action," said WRU of the Scarlets fly-half, who will be replaced on the Bench by Scott Williams.

"But after experiencing some further problems at the captain's run at the Millennium Stadium, the decision was taken this morning to err on the side of caution and not risk the player against the Pumas."
