The Lions have been rocked by news that James Kamana will miss the rest of the season through injury.
The 25-year-old New Zealander had only just returned to action after a three-match suspension.
However Kamana damaged his fibula in Saturday's clash with the Sharks - with the former Waikato and Tasman full-back now facing three months out.
Kamana will join flanker Josh Strauss and lock George Earle on the sidelines after the duo suffered concussion in Durban.
There is some good news for the Lions, though, with South Africa fly-half Butch James pencilled in to make his debut on May 14 should Bath miss out on the Aviva Premiership play-offs.
