Fly-half to pursue a career in education

Edinburgh fly-half David Blair has announced his decision to quit the professional game at the end of the season. Blair has made 60 appearances for the side, scoring 154 points and having been capped at A team, Under-21, U19 and U18 levels by Scotland. However the 25-year-old has now opted to pursue a career in education. "It's been a tremendous privilege to be part of this environment, and I've met some great people along the way," he told the club's official site. "The time has come to open a different chapter, but I look forward to keeping in touch with the coaches and teammates who I've worked alongside." Edinburgh interim head coach Nick Scrivener thanked Blair for his contribution. "David Blair is a player who has always shown a very professional attitude and who has contributed positively both on and off the field," he said. "On behalf of everyone at the club, I'd like to wish him all the best for the next stage in his working life."
