France fly-half Francois Trinh-Duc is expected to be cleared to play Italy in the RBS Six Nations on March 12.
Trinh-Duc 'twisted' his right knee during the 17-9 defeat to England at Twickenham.
However a scan on the injury has revealed that the 24-year-old has not suffered any serious damage.
And Trinh-Duc could now even play for Montpellier in their Top 14 match against Agen on Saturday.
The fitness doubts over Trinh-Duc, as well as injury doubts concerning Toulouse full-back Maxime Medard, has forced coach Marc Lièvremont to delay announcing his 23-man squad for the trip to Italy until Wednesday.
