Bath fly-half reportedly set to return to South Africa

The Lions are on the verge of completing a deal to sign South Africa fly-half Butch James from Bath, according to reports. The Lions have long been admirers of James, despite having Elton Jantjies, Andre Pretorius and Burton Francis in their squad. And it seems they have finally secured the signing of the 32-year-old, with reports in South Africa claiming the deal will be confirmed on Tuesday. James, who is contracted to Bath until 2012, would see out the rest of the season at The Rec before heading to Johannesburg for the Currie Cup campaign. The Lions are also hoping to complete a deal to sign Springbok prop BJ Botha from Ulster.
