Wales centre Jamie Roberts is closing in on a return to action with Cardiff Blues after a lengthy injury lay-off.

The 24-year-old has not played since June due to a wrist injury but is now approaching full fitness.

He is set to return to first-team action in the next few weeks, which will also be a welcome boots for Wales ahead of the RBS Six Nations campaign starting in February.

"Following consultation with the medical team at Spire Hospital in Cardiff, Cardiff Blues can confirm that Jamie Roberts is expected to be back playing again over the forthcoming weeks," the Blues announced.
