Tialata: Call up
New Zealand have called up veteran prop Neemia Tialata after Ben Franks' tour was cut short by injury.
Franks was forced to pull out of the All Blacks squad to face England after injuring his back in training, with team doctor Deb Robinson ruling him out of the forthcoming Tests against Scotland and Ireland.
That has opened the door for Tialata to make his return to the team after he was told to go away and work on certain aspects of his game.
Tialata won the last of his 43 caps against Wales in the summer, with the 28-year-old's ability to cope with the faster modern game being question.
The Hurricanes prop is confident, though, that he has adapted the style of play to force his way back into the Test team.
"They were quite clear with what I needed to work on," he told NZPA.
"I came away quite happy, knowing what I needed to work on and had a massive ITM Cup. I enjoyed myself with the Lions and that's why this call isn't surprising, I'm ready to go."
