Scotland coach Andy Robinson has named uncapped quartet Ruaridh Jackson, Jim Thompson, Greig Laidlaw and Joe Ansbro in his squad for the autumn internationals.
Robinson has named a 34-man squad for the Tests against New Zealand (November 13), South Africa (November 20) and Samoa (November 27).
And fly-half Jackson, scrum-half Laidlaw, winger/full-back Thompson and utility back Ansbro are all poised to win their first caps after earning call-ups.
Jackson, 22, and Ansbro, who won the IRB Nations Cup with Scotland A in 2009, in particular have impressed Robinson.
"We set great store on improvement and Ruaridh has been working hard on his game," said Robinson.
"Joe has given some assured performances for Northampton when his team have been under pressure and he can play centre and wing which gives us options."
Alastair Kellock, Johnnie Beattie, Nick de Luca and Simon Danielli are among those who have been ruled out of the Tests through injuries.
So Robinson will look to his experienced squad members to take up the mantle of inspiring the newcomers.
"I will be looking for members of our leaders' group to step up and take on greater responsibility," said Robinson.
"As an international rugby player you cannot fail to be excited by the prospect of testing yourself in front of your own fervent support against the world's best.
"We are unbeaten in our last four games and the players are determined to build on that and produce a performance to inspire the country, so the bigger crowd we have at Murrayfield and Pittodrie the better."
