Anesi: New deal
The Waratahs have been boosted by news All Black Sosene Anesi and Auckland wing Atieli 'Afa' Pakalani have agreed deals with the franchise.
Anesi, who has been capped once, initially joined the Waratahs last season after 41 appearances for the Chiefs.
The 29-year-old full-back went on to make 12 appearances last season - although injury robbed of the chance of playing in the semi-finals.
"Personally and for the team I think there's a bit of unfinished business from 2010 and I'm grateful for the opportunity to come back and make amends for that," said Anesi.
"It was disappointing to miss those last couple of games because as a unit the backs had come so far in a short space of time.
"Last year I was new to the team, Berrick [Barnes] and Drew [Mitchell] were new to the team as well and KB [Kurtley Beale] was getting used to a new position so we spent a lot of time developing our combinations and our style.
"By the time we were really hitting our straps the season was almost over but in 2011 we'll be starting from a much better place."
Tonga-born Pakalani will make his Super Rugby debut after impressing for Auckland in the ITM Cup.
"This is a great opportunity for me," said Pakalani.
"It's going to be a big challenge to push for a place in the back three because it's full of Test players at NSW but I'm hoping to learn a lot and if I get a chance then I'm going to take it.
"The Waratahs have shown a lot of faith in me and I want to repay them."
