Italian wants to finish his career at Welford Road

Martin Castrogiovanni has given Leicester a massive boost after admitting he wants to finish his career at the Tigers. The 28-year-old's future at Welford Road has been in doubt with his current deal at the club due to expire at the end of the season. A number of sides across the Channel in the Top 14 are believed to be weighing up big money offers for the Italy prop - especially as Leicester have to balance their books within the constraints of the salary cap. Castrogiovanni, though, has claimed he has no intentions of leaving the club he joined in 2006 from Calvisano. "I want to stay in Leicester. I know there is a salary cap but this is the place which has made me the player I am," Castrogiovanni told The Leicester Mercury. "I am happy here and I want to play here. People recognise me when I go on to the field and I have the crowd behind me all of the time. When you come to the end of a contract it is a chance to go away, but this is my club and I want to stay here. "We need to sit down and talk and I want to plan. I feel this is my house. There are lots of rumours about where I might play and a lot of clubs could be interested in me. "But I have not talked to anyone, I want to talk to Leicester first because I would love to finish my career here. It would be amazing to play 10 years at a club like this and finish here."
