Harlequins scrum-half Karl Dickson has agreed to extend his stay at the club by a further two years.

Dickson arrived at the Stoop from Bedford in 2009, with the 28-year-old going on to make 21 appearances for the club.

And Dickson is relishing the competition with England international Danny Care for the No.9 shirt.

"I came to Quins because I wanted to prove myself at this level and become the best possible player I can," said Dickson.

"Quins has offered me a great environment in which to do this, and I am enjoying being involved with such a friendly club, where everyone is happy and positive.

"The competition with Danny Care [who has also extended his contract for another two years] helps both of us players and hopefully I can push him as much as possible and make him a better player."
