Varndell and Ward-Smith sign new deals

London Wasps have received a double boost going into their clash against Leicester with news Tom Varndell and Dan Ward-Smith have agreed new deals. Varndell and Ward-Smith both joined Wasps in 2009 but they have now signed two-year extension to their current contracts. The duo follow in the footsteps of Serge Betsen, Richard Birkett, Ben Broster, Rob Webber, Tom Rees, Christian Wade, Dominic Waldouck, Joe Ward and Joe Worsley in committing their long-term future to the club. And director of rugby Tony Hanks is delighted Varndell and Ward-Smith - who have both been capped by England - will be remaining at Adams Park. Hanks said: "We are really pleased to secure the services of these two quality players. Both Tom and Dan have bought into the Wasps way and established themselves as key members of the squad. "Retention of key members is vital and we are excited about the squad we are building short and long term. "Both families; Dan, Jamie and Brooke and Tom, Claire and Tao have settled in very well and we are pleased that they will continue to be a part of the club long term."
