Flanker suffers a groin injury in training

Australia flanker Matt Hodgson has been ruled out of Saturday's Tri-Nations clash with South Africa in Brisbane. The 29-year-old had been due to start the match on the bench, however he suffered a groin stain on Tuesday and is now set to be sidelined for the next week. As a result Hodgson's Western Force team-mate Ben McCalman has been called in to the squad and is now poised to make his debut. McCalman has previously played for the Australian Barbarians, while he travelled with the Wallabies last year. "Matt did it (the injury) very late running in Tuesday's session," Wallabies coach Robbie Deans said. "Benny's got a good handle on what's required and he doesn't want for any willingness."
