South Africa wing Jean de Villiers has been suspended for two weeks after a dangerous tackle during the Springboks' clash with New Zealand on Saturday.
The 29-year-old was found guilty of a lifting tackle on Rene Ranger during the All Blacks' 31-17 victory in the Tri-Nations contest.
De Villiers' ban means he will miss South Africa's third Tri-Nations match against Australia in Brisbane next Saturday.
Judicial officer Dennis Wheelahan said that de Villiers' otherwise good disciplinary record was taken into account as "an important mitigating factor" in the decision.
The citing was the second in two matches for the Springboks after second-row Bakkies Botha was given a nine-week suspension for a headbutt in the Tri-Nations opener against New Zealand.
