South Africa prop Jannie du Plessis has been ruled out Saturday's Tri-Nations clash with the All Blacks in Wellington.
Du Plessis suffered a calf strain in the 32-12 defeat at Eden Park in Auckland.
And BJ Botha or CJ van der Linde are now in line to come in at tighthead as the Springboks look to bounce back.
But coach Peter de Villiers insisted there was no reason to panic following the disappointing defeat.
"The way you lose is not as important as how you stand up from such a defeat," he said.
"The guys know they didn't perform well, they remain proud and they realise that they have hard work ahead of them this week.
"The All Blacks were very good at the weekend and they did not allow us space to play the way we wanted."
