Mitchell was one of a number of players overlooked for the 30-man squad for the Tri-Nations after failing to impress in the clashes against England and Ireland.

However with Peter Hynes having picked up a knee injury in training, Mitchell is now back in contention for the Wallabies.

Hynes has been ruled out the squad indefinitely, so Mitchell, along with Western Force full-back Cameron Shepherd and winger Nick Cummins, will now join the Australia squad for a training camp in Sydney.
