Versatile front-row heading to Sale

Sale Sharks have announced their fourth signing in four days after securing front-rower Aston Croall on a three-year deal. Croall, who hails from the Isle of Sheppey in Kent, heads north from Harlequins, where he captained the side in the Guinness 'A' League final against Leicester. The 25-year-old has previously played for Saracens and has been capped at England Under-19 and Under-21 levels and can play as hooker or prop. And Sale head coach Mike Brewer has admitted he has been a long-time admirer of Croall. Brewer said: "I have been impressed with Aston for a while. He is a strong scrummager and very accurate defender. "He has a high work-rate for a prop. I will be looking to develop his ball carrying ability and exchanges in the collision.

Bonus

"Aston also has the added bonus in that as well as playing at loosehead he can also play hooker." Croall follows Paul Williams, Wame Lewaravu and Kyle Tonetti in signing for the Sharks in recent days - and chief executive Mick Hogan admitted more signings would follow. Hogan added: "Aston is a good signing for us in that he is a talented young English front row forward. "Mike has done well to get Aston on board and it's our fourth new signing announcement this week following the signatures of Paul Williams, Wame Lewaravu and Kyle Tonetti. "We have some more signings to announce next week and will also be able to announce some important off field signings too in the near future."
