Joint Scotland captain Chris Cusiter will travel to Argentina for the summer tour despite suffering with a niggling knee injury.
The scrum-half was a major doubt to make Friday's flight to South America after he missed the practice-match victory over a Japan select on Tuesday.
However, the Glasgow man has confirmed he will travel, although he will continue undergoing treatment in Argentina ahead of the first Test on June 12.
"I'm fit to travel," Cusiter told Press Association Sport. "It's not quite 100 per cent yet so I'm hoping to rectify that before the Test matches start.
"I'm working hard with the physios and medical team and doing everything I can to get it right.
"It has been a frustrating injury, it has lasted longer than I hoped. But there's nothing I really can do, I just have to bide my time.
"I'm grateful to the coaches for giving me an opportunity to come out and get fit while I'm in Argentina."
Watching brief
Cusiter watched on next to coach Andy Robinson on Tuesday night when a Scotland XV laboured to a 24-5 victory over a Japan select team.
The 27-year-old admitted it was an eye-opening experience to see the former England boss' reactions, describing it as "quite scary" at times.
"It was really useful to be up in the box with Andy and see what they are looking for," he said.
"It was quite scary almost sometimes to see his reaction when mistakes are made. It made me think back to the Six Nations and the odd foot I put wrong and what he must have been saying then.
"But it was good to see what they are looking for in certain situations. It makes you think a lot about the game."
As well as Cusiter, who will have to prove his fitness by Monday, Robinson will also have flanker Alan McDonald back following an abdominal problem.
Gloucester contingent Rory and Scott Lawson, Alasdair Dickinson and Al Strokosch will join up with their team-mates for the trip after being blocked from meeting up this week by Premier Rugby.
