Mallinder: Accusation
Northampton director of rugby Jim Mallinder has accused Saracens of approaching prop Brian Mujati about a move.
The Saints and Saracens, who meet in the Guinness Premiership play-off semi-final, have already fallen out this season over Soane Tonga'uiha.
Saracens thought they had signed the Tongan only for the 28-year-old to complete a u-turn and decide to stay at Franklin's Gardens.
The club settled the disagreement ahead of a Premier Rugby panel hearing, however the bad blood between the two sides was evident as Saracens recorded a 28-27 victory in the penultimate league of the season.
And now Mallinder has added fuel to the fire by saying Saracens approached Springbok prop Mujati despite him being under contract.
"One of our players has had a phone call from one of their players asking if he wants to leave and come to Saracens," Mallinder told The Guardian.
"When a player like that is under contract it's disappointing. But if that's the way they want to do their business..."
