Former Australia skipper Stirling Mortlock has been denied the chance of a last goodbye to Canberra after he was sidelined with a back injury.
The 32-year-old is set to leave the Brumbies at the end of the season to join the Melbourne Rebels.
However Mortlock, who has missed the past four matches with the complaint, will miss out on the final home game of the season against the Highlanders on Saturday.
"I pulled up a bit sore from the session yesterday," he said.
"I was really happy with the way my back went during the session yesterday but I always knew it was how I pulled up today.
"Unfortunately it's a little too sore and we're better off making the call early and preparing for next week's game."
The match will also mark George Smith's final home game with the Australia flanker set to move overseas at the end of the season.
