England international agrees three-year deal

Bath have confirmed that they have agreed a three-year deal with Leicester fly-half Sam Vesty. The 28-year-old, who followed in the footsteps of his father, grandfather and great-grandfather in playing for the Tigers, will join Leicester team-mate Lewis Moody in making the switch in the summer. And after making 164 appearances for the Tigers, the England international is relishing the chance of a new challenge. "I am really looking forward to coming to Bath," said Vesty, who had also been linked to a move to France. "Bath appealed to me because of the exciting brand of rugby that they play. They like to get the ball into space and attack with ball in hand which is a style that not only suits me, but excites me also.

Challenge

"It is a great opportunity to enjoy a different experience. "I have a young family, so now is the perfect time to move to a different part of the country and take on a new challenge which I think will be great for my game." Bath coach Steve Meehan believes that Vesty's versatility will be a valuable asset. "Sam has a great range of skills and is very flexible; he prefers fly half, but he can play at 10 or 12," said Meehan. "He is a player who is team-orientated and thoroughly professional. "He is also an very intelligent player and another goal kicker with a style of play that will definitely complement Bath when he joins us in the summer."
