Cardiff Blues have confirmed that they have made an official offer to sign Wales No.8 Gareth Delve.
Delve, who started the defeat against Ireland, is out of contract with Gloucester at the end of the season - and has already been approached by Melbourne Rebels about moving Down Under.
However Delve has admitted that his recall to the Wales team has made staying in the UK more tempting, especially as he wants to play in the World Cup.
And the Blues, who see the 27-year-old as the ideal replacement for Ulster-bound Xavier Rush, have now put in an offer to test Delve's resolve.
"We would love Gareth to sign for the Blues and we've made him a strong offer," Young told the Western Mail.
"We feel it's a good option for Gareth, but he won't be rushed into anything. If he has Wales aspirations he would surely be better off with us.
"A big factor in his decision may be down to whether he wants to play for Wales. If he goes to Melbourne, that could be difficult."
