Eaton: Injury blow
The Hurricanes have been rocked by news lock Jason Eaton is set to miss the rest of the season with a serious knee injury.
Eaton ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during the 33-18 win over the Lions.
Eaton now faces surgery to repair the damage - with the All Black, who suffered a similar injury to his left knee in 2007, facing six months out.
The Hurricanes have also seen Tamati Ellison and Conrad Smith miss the tour to South Africa after suffering injuries in the win.
Ellison has damaged his shoulder, ruling him out the game against the Cheetahs, while Smith has sprained his thumb.
Centre Jason Kawau will also miss the trip due to a sinus problem, so Alapati Leiua will travel from the club's wider training group, while Brett Mather has joined on loan from the Highlanders.
The Hurricanes, though, have been buoyed by news that lock Jeremy Thrush and prop Anthony Perenise have been passed fit for the tour.
