Shepherd: thigh problem
Western Force winger Cameron Shepherd is set for a six-week spell on the sidelines after suffering a thigh injury.
Shepherd sustained the problem while kicking in the warm-up prior to the Force's 24-15 season-opening loss to the Brumbies on February 12.
A statement from the Force described Shepherd's injury as a "severe thigh strain" although he will not require surgery.
The Perth-based Super 14 franchise are also still assessing the extent of number eight Richard Brown's shoulder injury before deciding on further action.
There was better news for fly-half Mark Bartholomeusz who is expected to return for the home game against the Chiefs on February 27.
Bartholomeusz missed the Brumbies defeat with a nerve irritation in his neck.
