Sale Sharks have announced that Richard Wigglesworth will leave the club at the end of the season to join Saracens.
The scrum-half becomes the second England international to sign for Sarries within the space of 24 hours with the arrival of prop Matt Stevens confirmed on Monday.
Wigglesworth is a product of Sale's academy and has won five England caps, the last of them coming in the 33-10 Six Nations triumph over Ireland in March 2008.
The 26-year-old, who did battle with Dwayne Peel for a starting berth at Sale, admitted it had been a hard decision to leave the Sharks, but insisted the time was now right for a change.
"Sharks is a very special club to me, it gave me my start in professional rugby nine years ago, and I am grateful for that," he commented.
"I have had nine great years at Sale, but I feel the time is right for a change.
"Everyone can see there is something special happening at Saracens, on and off the field, and I want to be part of it."
Venter delighted
Saracens director of rugby Brendan Venter was delighted to have secured the services of Wigglesworth, adding: "Richard is a top-quality international in the prime of his career, and his eagerness to join Saracens is further evidence this club is going places."
Saracens, contenders for this season's Premiership title, currently have three international number nines on their books in South African Neil de Kock, New Zealander Justin Marshall and Fijian Moses Rauluni.
