Wales captain Ryan Jones will lead Ospreys into the new campaign after he was reappointed skipper at the Liberty Stadium.
The 28-year-old has been captain since the 2007-08 season when he went on to lead the club to EDF Energy Cup success.
Though they were unable to defend the title last term, Ospreys once again finished the highest placed Welsh region in the Magners League and Jones is delighted to continue as captain.
"I'm proud that, having looked closely at a very strong group of players, the coaches have shown faith in my abilities to lead the Ospreys," he said.
"I have been involved with the ongoing, two-way discussions and kept fully informed of the position, and I'm obviously delighted that I will now be able to continue the job I have been doing."
It proved a frustrating summer for Jones after he missed out on selection for the British and Lions' South Africa trip.
He was then barely in the country for 24 hours following his call-up as a mid-tour replacement before injury meant a rapid return home.
But he can now put all of those problems behind him and refocus on his domestic commitments, starting at Connacht on Friday night.
