Waratahs prop Al Baxter will be out of action for at least three weeks after suffering a calf injury during the 17-13 loss to the Crusaders on Saturday.
Baxter was forced from the field during the first half and could be sidelined for up to a month.
"Al was feeling really good coming into this match so it's unfortunate that he's suffered the injury again in his 100th appearance for the Waratahs," said Waratahs coach Chris Hickey.
"We'd expect him to be out for around a month, but depending on how his rehab goes, maybe sooner.
"At this stage we're counting on him being back for the South African leg of the campaign."
While the news was not good for one of the Waratahs' international stars, they did receive a boost on the weekend when Sekope Kepu got through his first game since tearing a pectoral muscle against the Barbarians on the Wallabies' European tour last December.
Kepu played a half for Randwick on the weekend and Hickey is hoping the front-rower will be available to tackle the Blues in the next round of Super 14 action.
"Sekope has been working extremely hard all year so it's great to get him back," aded Hickey.
"To lose one Wallaby prop but get another back from the injured list is some consolation."
